Exploring the expansive world of Hogwarts Legacy reveals numerous hidden treasure maps and musical puzzles that test a player's observational skills. Among these optional adventures, the Solved by the Bell side quest stands out as one of the most memorable musical challenges in the game. Finding the secret map and understanding how to play the correct chime sequence allows players to unlock exclusive cosmetic rewards and experience a special Easter egg.
Finding the Musical Map in Henrietta's Hideaway
To initiate the quest, players must journey to the southern reaches of Manor Cape and enter Henrietta's Hideaway. The subterranean dungeon is guarded by high-level Ashwinders, so proper combat preparation is strongly recommended before venturing inside. Navigating through the initial block puzzles and secret passageways eventually leads to a chamber containing the Musical Map resting on a side table.
Once picked up, the parchment provides a visual clue displaying a set of musical notes alongside a illustration of a bell tower. Understanding the treasure map requires cross-referencing the drawing with key landmarks scattered across the Highlands. This clue directs adventurers straight toward Clagmar Castle on the Clagmar Coast.
Locating the Bell Tower at Clagmar Castle
Traveling east toward the Clagmar Coast region brings players to the imposing stronghold known as Clagmar Castle. Upon arriving, clearing out the surrounding Ashwinder enemies makes solving the puzzle much easier without unnecessary interruptions. Head toward the western side of the castle layout to spot a large wooden platform facing nine brass bells arranged in two vertical columns.
Positioning yourself on the wooden scaffolding ensures a clear line of sight to all nine bells. Using the Basic Cast spell allows you to strike individual bells to produce specific musical pitches. Matching these pitches to the musical staff on your map reveals the proper sequence needed to solve the riddle.
Striking the Correct Bell Sequence and Claiming Rewards
To solve the puzzle correctly, target the bells in a precise top-to-bottom pattern using basic ranged attacks. The sequence begins on the bottom-right bell, moves to the third bell down on the left, and continues in a specific order across both columns. Striking all eight notes correctly plays a recognizable melody that fans of the franchise will instantly identify.
After the melody finishes playing, a decorative treasure chest automatically materializes right beside the wooden platform. Opening this chest completes the quest line, rewarding players with 180 experience points, 400 Galleons, and the Treasure-Seeker's Longcoat.
